Concept
A garden in bloom.
Sprout & Grow is a pediatric clinic that specializes in treating children ages 0-18. The driving considerations behind the design were patient and visitor confidence and security, as well as functionality to increase the staff’s capability to effectively perform their tasks.
I developed my concept through an extensive research process; my research goals were to figure out how to implement positive distractions, the correct color palette, and the most efficient plan for a pediatric setting.
From this research I developed the concept of “A Garden in Bloom.”
This conceptual foundation informed aesthetic decisions that focused on inspiring feelings of happiness, comfort, and growth. The research helped me develop a spa-like color palette, additionally I designed custom positive distractions for the waiting spaces.

Customs
Custom furniture was an integral part of this design. Using Revit families, I created a custom seating and shelving unit with LED lights and a ceiling component, a reception desk, and an interactive seating for the children's waiting area. The interactive seating lights up when lightly pressed. I applied a variety of textures and materials to add a feeling of cohesion between the pieces and other aesthetic components.
Rendered Elevations
Reception and Waiting
Entrance to Exam Rooms
The rendered elevations show how the waiting spaces connect, as well as the transition into the patient rooms. The waiting area is elongated, so this horizontal connection is important. The space faces large windows which let in ample natural light. As for the doors to exam rooms, I wanted patients and their families to feel comforted when entering. To create this, I added ambient light fixtures above the door, as well as a curved green accent.
